All we see now are traces of each other
a pair of shoes or the scent of cigarettes
crumbs on the counter and a disheveled cover
I wonder when's the last time we met?

All we see now are ghost of one another
half drunken coffee and an empty gas tank
an unfilled chair rocking that belongs to my mother
she'll return in the morning with her job to thank

All we see now are shadows of the other
through exhaust fumes and a foggy glass door
we come and go and each passing gets rougher
but one day I promise her she'll miss me no more.
