Yes Australia. I don't get around much though as we're rather isolated out here. In what way should I be your mentor?

In all seriousness. I browsed your profile and I see you're into drawing. Drawing is a great way to further photographs. In drawing one always projects a huge part of themself upon the works. I find this is sometimes forgotten in photography, but is essential to producing something with meaning.

yeaa. i see what you mean. i have an issue with creativity in my photos, they arent really complex or conceptual, which is what i want..

I think it just comes from having something to get out. If you have something to say and it's bursting to come out, it shows in your work.

Anyway, I disappeared for a while but I have a good reason...what you see in this picture is under a loooot of water right about now. Not really the most ideal way to have your city on the world news.

What the tree, what type of forest is it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

peewee82 In reply to Silvel [2009-08-24 16:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Mangroves. They grow on the shoreline in salt water in tropical climates. Mangroves is both the name of the forest and the trees. I think these trees are specifically yellow mangroves.

Ah ok. Never saw any although I went on similar lands.

They're rarely tourist attractions as the areas are swampy with dark, muddy sand. Plus they're more common in calm waters sheltered from direct waves. The dark sands are rich in nutrients and home to an abundance of wildlife. Migratory birds travel across the planet to these areas.

Though it looks like fun to wander in there, your feet sink into the mud and you get covered in insects.

Ok anyway I rarely travel to place organized for tourists.
And yup it looks awesome, there doesn't seem to be a lot of vegetation apart from the trees so you can walk quietly. And I'm used to insect swarms xD

Man, I just love this one.

Not only are the trees cool on their own, but looking at it long enough and the roots look like boney old fingers clawing the ground.

Seeing these make me want to shoot more MF too!
