Description I originally drew this in pencil when I was in 15 or 16. That was when Dreamwave first busted out the Transformers comics. My rendition of Optimus was clearly based on Pat Lee's version; the "window sills", the shoulder vents, and the grey upper arms are all elements taken from Pat Lee's design. A year or two later, when I was first learning how to use Photoshop, I scanned this and tried coloring over it. The background is pretty weak: I like the lightening bolt a lot but the rock formation is really half-assed. My brother said the pose is "very Rob Liefeld". He didn't mean it as a compliment.

The pose isn't so bad. Overall the piece is pretty good.
