thats an awful large map don't you think?

The forest at the bottom and the town at the top are two different maps. Put together, they made The Kindles Province. This map is very outdated though, so it doesn't look completely the same anymore.

You should really recolor the base of the HGSS trees.
Other than that, it looks ok. You should also have the grey grass have a greenish tint to it.
Since when do you ever see grey grass...

PeekyChew In reply to Cilerba [2010-06-11 11:16:41 +0000 UTC]
It's a different tree so the wood is a different colour, it would be unnatural if it was the smae. Unless you mean something else?
Next to an active volcano xD

Cilerba In reply to PeekyChew [2010-06-11 20:16:35 +0000 UTC]
I meant recolor the BASE, the bottom, the trunk. Get it now?
And if it's next to an active volcano, temperature should be on the higher side, and grass wouldn't have enough water to grow...But, just a suggestion dude. It would look better with just regular grass, and set the saturation to about 50-70

PeekyChew In reply to Cilerba [2010-06-11 20:25:16 +0000 UTC]
The trunk of the tree is made out of wood.
I think the grass is far enough away, it's about as far away as it is in r/s/e anyway. But I will get rid of the parts that are closer.

No, not the trunk. The circular shadow UNDER the trunk.

What needs changed? It looks fine to me.

No biggie.
But look at the Platinum tree. The base of the tree is a perfect dark green. The HGSS tree, is a yellow-ish green. Try and make it all blend in,

There's one thing I still don't get about this map. No... wait, two things. First thing is... why does everything start being black/white while near the volcano?
Second thing... why the hell would someone build a city near an active volcano?
That's all I wanted to say, haha. xd

PeekyChew In reply to iametrine [2010-05-18 15:55:33 +0000 UTC]
Volaconos are generally grey, that's why the rock is. The grass and trees are covered in ash.
I have no idea xD

iametrine In reply to PeekyChew [2010-05-18 16:34:07 +0000 UTC]
What about making a smooth transition from grass, to something brownish, with grey more on top of the volcano?
π: 0 β©: 1
PeekyChew In reply to iametrine [2010-05-21 14:47:49 +0000 UTC]
Well all of the rocks in my game are actually grey so I can't do that. But I will change it so the closer you get the more scorched it looks. Thanks for the idea.

Uh, I don't like the upper part, with the line going over the lava. If something happens to that little one, they will just go down into the lava and vaporize.
I'd place the lava somewhere else.
π: 0 β©: 1
PeekyChew In reply to NuclearD00d [2010-05-12 17:19:19 +0000 UTC]
But why would something happen to the line? I think it looks good, there's no other place to put it anyway.
π: 0 β©: 1
NuclearD00d In reply to PeekyChew [2010-05-12 19:55:32 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's simple. Nothing lasts forever. Friction caused by people going up and down will cause the line to get worn out.
Also, the boiling lava seems to be roughly one or two meters below, which means that the rate it will get worn out will increase. The person who planned that little ride can't have known a lot about business since it will not lead to profit as those lines are kind of expensive.
No sane person would build over an active volcano either, all his savings, all of his company could literally blow up at any minute.
So yeah, I'd at least remove the lave that is directly under the path of the line there.

PeekyChew In reply to NuclearD00d [2010-05-26 15:02:22 +0000 UTC]
I think they'd make more money because you do go directly over the lava. Anyway, it doesn't have to be 100% realistic.

NuclearD00d In reply to PeekyChew [2010-05-26 15:13:01 +0000 UTC]
At the moment it's 100% unrealistic. Which more or less ruins the game for me. It looks like an amateur did it. Still, who cares? It's not like I'm ever going to play it. XD

Peeky, this is epic, especially when viewed from a thumbnail so the mountain looks epic. I love it overall but shouldn't there be more soot?

PeekyChew In reply to Mackinz [2010-05-10 10:47:32 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! First tiem anyones said one of my maps is epic!
Well, in-game there's a nice magma red fog effect when you're on the mountain and occasionally ash showers. If that's what you meant?

Your tiles are exellent!

PeekyChew In reply to Lithium-Polygon [2010-05-10 10:43:16 +0000 UTC]
Well it's not really the tiles that make it look nice, it's the pallets. You could have 3rd gen tiles and they'd still look great with the right pallet.
