Riley

Riley nodded to Ianthe as she disappeared with the others into the shadows. She herself turned back to Kilorn and Taeith, an excited smile playing on her lips. Her brain was smoking with how hard she was thinking about all the ways she could stop the Aodhians and protect Serora; her whole life long she had been ridiculed about her wish to become a councillor and now was her chance to prove herself. The others looked more like they simply wanted to protect Osprey if something happened - Riley was not gonna sit still and rather let her actions speak. With giddy steps she followed them both, lips sealed when she made out the silhouettes of Abram and Osprey and the few councillors he had taken with him. Her gaze immediately settled on Iscah and the warriors she had standing next to her, upper lip curling with anger. Those were the horses that profited off of slavery, that ridiculed the right to live, that Riley had always hated with a passion.

She still said nothing as they hid behind the bushes, and silence fell over them all as they listened to the muffled words of the sultan and his bond mate. "He-is-Seroran," she heard Abram snarl and her brows furrowed. "He is Seroran, he is our son, and you shall not have him." They were talking about Noatak. The Aodhians wanted Noatak. Riley bit her tongue so harshly she drew blood as anger cursed through her veins. She ground her teeth on top of each other and heaved a deep breath. When Serora had made the agreement to ship over vagabonds, Riley had already protested - the vagabonds deserved to live just like Serorans did, but now they were asking for a child. Noatak was not even a year old and they wanted him in Aodh. She did not even dare to imagine what they would do to him; turn him into a slave? Kill him because he was useless?

Riley turned to the others in anger, her eyes burning with the same passion that had burnt through her in the nights she spent searching for a sign from Alya. "This is unbelievable," she hissed, ears pinned back. "They not only want Vagabonds, but also a child!" Riley had never understood the Aodhian thought process; what the fuck would they do with a child? "I don't know what the fuck you all want to do but I'm not going to let the Aodhians get away with this," she huffed and took a daring step forward, eyes dead set on Iscah and her warriors.

Kilorn
As the group split, four including him after Osrey and two after the newcomer, he worried of the two. Jack and Ianthe were probably capable of taking care of themselves, but he still worried. He wanted to go with them and partially do as he was asked, to watch over the herd, but he couldn't bring himself to leave Osprey undefended. As he walked onward he too was wondering if it would not be wise to walk right up, so when Taeith slowed and stated that the bushes would be out of sight and well in hearing range he agreed. "That's probably for the best, for now." He said and headed over there himself, but as he thought about it the sight would be pretty comical. Three shorter horses could easily hide in the bushes, but the tall stallion was a bit.. obvious. He almost laughed internally, almost.

As Abram's voice rang out, Kilorn stopped dead in his tracks. Any amusement he may have had was crushed by the shock and anger, so much anger. It was a privilege to serve and protect Osprey and Abram, and now he was honored to watch over Noatak as well. His group had saved the colt, and he was more than proud of that. All of his previous anger towards Iscah flooded through him, his eyes darkening. If it weren't for his good sense, and perhaps even his talent as a tactician, he would have marched right over and kicked some Aodhian ass. He let out a deep breath, and listened to his group, Taeith seemed to be very kind, and not impulsive, which he found endearing. And he felt proud that Osprey and Abram weren't giving in. He would fight for them, and for Noa. "Of course, if it gets worse we will intervene, if Iscah brought company, it's only right." he commented and although he meant that, just as Riley seemed ready to fight, he was almost there with her, but kept himself in check as they concealed themselves as well as possible in the bushes. His ears pinned and his adrenaline picked up, he was angrier with every word being said. Iscah was so ridiculous, surely this couldn't be the dangerous words of a boy king? No, they were the cruelty of a rich brat.

Riley's words cut his eyes from peering intensely at the group, itching to step in, to her taking a step forward. Kilorn couldn't let her do that, the young mare would be killed on the spot if she startled the Aodhian Chevaliers in the wrong way, or start a huge fight, which Kilorn was sure would injure their leader and others. So for the moment he had to stop her, which made his head throb, knowing she only wanted what he did, to cause them the same pain the bastards had caused their herd. "Riley, wait." He commanded, he would have softened his tone but any words that came out tasted sharp and metallic. "It is not our place, or our time yet. We are all upset, if not infuriated, but I can't let you." These words too, spoken quickly, but somewhat softer, still filled his mouth with led, and made his heart ache and itch violently to go, to spit upon "Lady Iscah's" face. But, his brain conflicted that with every fiber, knowing the outcome, knowing how wrong that too would be. It tore him in two, how could one protect his herd and his leaders in a situation like this? It seemed to be a crude joke from the gods, probably Ignacio's cruelty.
