“This isn’t going to work, James,“ Jessie lamented, taking a step back and admiring their spotty workmanship. James continued to fidjit with the wig a bit more, trying to get it to form to a head shape it was never meant to work with. He was trying his best, but it wasn’t quite going to cut it.
“Come on Jessie,“ James persuaded, “We need to trick the Poke Mansion Magazine owner into marriage so we can inherit his fortune when he kicks the bucket!“
“The only bucket we’re kicking is the one that hit this slowpoke in the head!“ Meowth retorted, “Slowpokes aren’t the fastest or the brightest pokemon around, but this one is the dumbest I’ve ever seen!“ The slowpoke tilted its head slightly and the wig slowly slipped off its slick forehead.
“Ssssllllloooooowww?“ Slowpoke asked, which translated roughly to “wwwhhhaaattt?”. James scrambled to pick up the blonde wig, brushing it off and trying once again to get the thing to stay on. Now it would have to be brushed again. There was no time for this. They had already taken far too long wrestling that dress onto it. Getting the wig sorted again would take ages.
“What we should have done is sent me to the party,“ Jessie argued, “A catch like me could swoon the old coot in nothing flat.“ Meowth rolled his eyes and folded his arms. James stopped fixing the wig to turn around.
“Oh, we’ve been over this, Jessie. Weren’t you listening? What if he asks you to go to the day care with him?“ James suggested lightly, “We don’t want to have to carry around any pokemon eggs.“ Meowth smirked under covered paw. Jessie blushed hard and pounded down on both of their heads with her fists.
“What do I look like to you? A ditto?“ Jessie scolded them.
“Besides,“ James reminded her, “We went to all the trouble of buying everything, getting her ready and teaching her TM45! We’ve used too much time and resources to give up on this now!“ Jessie folded her arms and looked away. He was right. The party was in an hour and someone had to marry the guy.
“What do you think, Slowrilyn Pokeroe?“ Meowth asked.
“Sssslllooowwwpppoookkkee,“ Slowpoke responded confidently, which translated roughly to, “If you can’t handle me at my slowest, you don’t deserve me at my pokiest!“ Meowth just sighed.
“Told you she wasn’t too bright,“ He lamented, “Come on. Let’s get this over with…“
