Description Sorry for the lower quality. These inks are so large that I could not scan them, I had to photograph. Things might seem a bit messy.

Nebuchadnezzar is hauled out of the water (none too soon either) upon her arrival in Calida Portum from her SECOND voyage, a six-month long and utterly ruinous affair in which the ship was very nearly lost in a fierce, nightmarish conflict and, due to false-death tactics having to be used, was BELEIVED lost (on both sides!) for several weeks prior to her return.

Needless to say the grieving in Calida Portum was turned on its end when the bludgeoned, punished, wrent and pounded vessel came struggling back over the horizon, half-foundered, listed to port and bilgepumps running full on.

A ship had never ascended from the harbor to the slipway so quickly, and such warm welcomes were never had before.

Thems on the left, behind the (TANDEM COMPOUND 4-6-2T dock-service locomotive with BRAKED PILOT TRUCK ) are two lovers being reunited.
The reason they are there is because in the utter bedlam and confusion of the entire city reuniting with the crew of Nebuchadnezzar, he fell from the ship and she fell from the docks, and in they were forced to swim to the shallow end of the slipway.

Good to see what manner of battering the Federation gave her as a "parting gift". Gives me some visual idea of how such encounters go. Of course, I'm glad they didn't really sink her, she's far too good a ship to let Davy Jones have.

On a slightly related issue:

Thoughts on the two Federation pieces I did last week? The Leadership and the night attack? Just want your feedback on my work, it helps me understand your ideas and where I'm going a bit better. By the time you read this, I sincerely hope you are in a better mood too. Really Alex, do keep up a good show. I'd hate for you to get your figurative fires damped too badly.

the unseen seven was marvelous, and I like the idea of some falsified avatar for their public face. Night attack was as good as a horrid attack scene can be, and good design of missle!

Thank you sir. I'm glad you are satisfied. Not that I can take too much credit for the Seven's concept, it is a bit Orwellian really.

(Yes, thats right, I thought back to that old Talking Head trope)

The missile I wanted to be realistic, but unique.

Good to know, all said and done.

it is, but then again much of the Federation is quite Orwellian. The federation also embodies many of my greatest personal fears, both physical and metaphorical
