Description Finally!!! I got the Black Hawk on colour!!! I'm still not sure about he colours of the helicopter. I think they're more darker than the one I draw.
Who cares!!! It took me many hours (Wich I could had spended playing Battlefield 2 or finishing the other drawing I'm making) to do this.
What you see here is UH-60 Black Hawk (Yeap! The same helicopter from the movie "Black Hawk Down". I love that movie).
I had to look pictures from the helicopter and also a small toy of the helicopter. I tried like hell to make it look as real as possible and this is the outcome of all that effort.
If you click on "Download" you'll see how big this drawing is.
I've also Included a small battle at the left inferior corner. You'll se an MBT M1A2 Abrams and a few soldiers (I think there's just one).
If you look carefully at the right, you'll see the wind effect of the helicopter moving reflected in the smoke right behind the chopper.

I hope you like this and the next drawing of this size (Wich will be Road Rage Baghdad) is going to be presented only in colour (So don't expect to have a black-white preview).
The big Surprise is comin'!!!

Well nowadays I just vector my helicopters and other aircraft out of Screenshot I take from YSF. So it's possible but at this moment I'm a bit troubled trying to finish existing commitments.

I will give it a thought 'though so do not worry.

Very cool stuff there, very clean. It almost reminds me of vector art in some respects. Great details with the running battle in the street as well.

Hmm, as for crit. I guess the one thing that's bugging me is the perspective on the two buildings directly below the Hawk. Are they mean't to be at a different angle to the rest of the street? Or does the street turn a bit behind the chopper? If the street is straight, then the edge where wall meets edge should be moving back toward the same vanishing point as the rest of the street.

The other thing is just a few of the little details. Like I said the running battle down the bottom is great, but what about the rest of it? The building with smashed windows for example: it would be kinda cool to have something behind those, like office cubicles or bedrooms or something, just something THERE. Otherwise the glass just looks like it was cladding instead of a window.

Also I'd take the oppertunity with the details to splash some Arabic around, it is in the middle east after all There's a couple of translators out there you can use. It may not be accurate, but it just gives that slightly exotic effect.

I like the shadow off the "Hotel" sign as well by the way

Thanks! Nice that you like it!
I hope this can clear some of your doubts:
-The street... it splits in two directions (Just behind the chopper), one straight and the other part of the street heads to the right of the scene. Streets and road in the Middle east sometimes create a sort of laberint in the cities. Avenues that become roads, small streets that split in two or more directions and specially dead ends.
-Details... Hell! I was so goddamn tired after I drew all the scenery and the chopper (It's the first helicopter I made in perspective). Just thinking in making some details inside the buildings just turn me off. But I drew this originally on May/June 2006 so I wasn't that good yet. Next time... I'll make some more details.
-Arabic... I want to learn Arabic (Nope! I'm not shiting you! I want to learn the whole stuff). It helps to learn the ways of your adversary !
I just put HOTEL there 'cause I play a lot Battlefield 2 and Ive seen a lots of hotels with those signs. You know... turists!
I'll follow your advices in the future. Thanks for telling me!

Coolness, I can fully understand wanting to learn arabic... apparently it's becoming the popular language to learn for the SAS instead of Russian

Details I find I wind up doing in small spurts, so maybe scribbling a window here, putting a person there... then getting bored and finding something else to do... like watch TV or mooch on dA.

Pretty wicked dude. some of the colouring is a little simple but I can't color at all. Great proportioning and form.
Even better dedicating it to me.

Thanks! I still got my head doing strange things after all the work I'd to do for this drawing! I was thinking: "This is too goddamn good comin' from me! I've got to dedicate this to someone. I know! That nice guy who draws military equipment very good!"
That or... I wasn't thinking right
Good you like it!

I used Corel's PHOTO-PAINT 11 and still... it took hours and a lot of test-and-make-and-undone-and-remake
Aniway... I'm glad you like it!
Next one... goes for you!
