Nate at first appears to be such a bright and warm young man to be around, always being a ball of sunshine wherever he goes. He's a pretty cheerful guy and likes to keep his head up even when things seem bleak. To him, if you stay optimistic when things look bad, you'll get through it in the end. He keeps this cheerful attitude where ever he goes, hoping it can help those who need something happy in their life. Nate is easily excited for many things, in particular meeting new people that are willing to hang around him — often being pumped and ready to go for any event or social event. He's pretty affectionate and cares deeply for others as well as trying to make other's happy. Most of the time he'll be very physical with his affection, hugging others when sees them or just staying close.
Though at times he can be pretty dense, mind you, he is not one hundred percent dumb, but it can be hard for him to get the hint. Sometimes having no clue as to what someone had just said to him or what the explanation was. Nate doesn't get romantic hints most of the time and thinks that it's just him being friends with the other person. Thanks to him being somewhat dense, Nate is often easily influenced by those around him. Even back when he was a Snivy, it's effortless to talk Nate into doing something with convincing enough. He also tends to copy the actions of his role models, in an attempt to be exactly like them. But aside from that, he can be very overbearing to those he cares about the most. Always hanging around them and will try to talk them out of something he thinks is unsafe. If they do it anyway, he'll cling onto them more and almost keep a close eye on them twenty-four seven. Or at least, try to when he can get close enough to them.
He can be pretty silly at times whether it's cracking jokes or getting himself into some mischief on accident. Nate likes to joke around to keep things light-hearted, but at times he doesn't know when and when not to be messing around. He doesn't have trouble reading the mood though, but he does make jokes to try and make someone feel better. Nate's pretty emotional, both in terms that he thinks with his heart and is very easy to read as to what he's feeling. At the same time, he's easily prone to crying, scratch that Nate is a big crybaby, as in he can end up feeling so many emotions at the same time it comes out in tears.

Childhood
Nate was born and raised for a majority of his young life in the Kingdom of Clubs, in a small village east of Chamboire to a newly married couple. His father, Simon, was a fisherman who seemed to lack any fear and to some extent lacked a filter as well. Nate’s mom Charlotte ran a flower shop, that was literally in their own home. As a young boy, Nate was energetic and noisy as well as having dreams of becoming a knight one day. Often putting his nose into things he’s not supposed to, whether it’d be the tackle box or the shed with all the gardening tools. Occasionally he would beat up bags of soil with a stick, drawing faces on the bags as well, so he can simulate enemies a knight would face in battle.
Both of Nate’s parents kept him around their home making sure he wouldn’t get lost, not letting him go further unless one of them accompanies him. He didn’t grow up with a lot of friends, most came and left as soon as they arrived. But Nate didn’t mind this not one bit, all he needed was his mom, and that’s it. His mom, in his eyes, was the kindest person in the universe. Nate would always cling to his mother; she was his haven. As for his father, he still felt anxious and slightly intimidated by him. His relationship with his dad wasn’t all that pleasant, but it wasn’t horrendous either, it was just neutral. There were a couple of sweet moments he had with him, but other times where remarks of “You should be a fisherman and not get into flowers.” This didn’t bother him a lot, just a little bit but he would still try to spend time with his dad whenever possible. Thought his parents would often argue about their differences in parenting styles, often debating how Nate should be raised.
There was never hitting involved or anything, just many disagreements that Nate would be told to play outside. As he grew older, he slowly became more and more aware of these fights, but these fights would rarely escalate at this point. To try and get Nate prepared for either being a fisherman or a gardener later on in his life, his parents would often try to teach those skills to him early on, at the age of 12 is when theses teachings began. When it comes to Nate’s dad getting him ready to be a fisherman, he would often take him fishing out on the boat and was also taught how to sail. While Nate wasn’t the best at actually catching fish, he caught on fairly quickly when it came to sailing. But when Nate and his dad would get home, his mom would try to teach him to read and write. Mostly from her dad used to be a teacher before he decided to stay at home with Nate’s grandma. This cycle continued for as long as he could remember, with the fights between his parents growing more frequently but not escalating to abuse.
TeenageAs soon as Nate turned 14, his parents slowly but surely let him go out of the house on his own. Thinking he was mature enough to know to come home before dark. Soon after that Nate started to work with his mom in the flower shop, though at times it was almost an excuse to not talk with his dad. Mostly to avoid getting yelled at for showing his interest in gardening more than wanting to be a fisherman, even flat out refusing to be friends with a group of sailor kids that lived next door. How he got out of doing this was to ask his mom what errands and deliveries he can do to get as far as possible. Most of them where delivery runs to some couples that were getting married in their village. From this point onward Nate had always had a closer connection with his mother than his father, especially since his dad started to take more time out on voyages out at sea for his next big catch. As well as Nate not talking to him as much and making excuses as to why he couldn’t come onto the boat that day.
Two years later, his parents finally got a divorce with the both of them allowing Nate to pick who he wanted to go with. Almost immediately he chose his mother, though his dad almost didn’t care that Nate chose his mom over him. Afterward, his mom took her old last name, Leblanc. Then moved Nate and her to Liberalis, in the kingdom of hearts, to live with the rest of his mom’s side of the family. The both of them from then on lived with Nate’s grandparents, who also ran a flower shop but his grandma mainly runs it. He eventually made a couple of friends in Liberalis thanks to the much kinder folk. As for his father, he stayed in the small village and continued to fish but was able to stay out at sea much longer.
Nate would still send letters to his father, but would rarely ever get a response and when he made the answer was either relatively short or said: “I’m too busy to respond right now.” Nate didn’t think that whenever his dad said he was busy it was to put him off to the side basically. But after a while of sending these letters back and forth, all of a sudden he stopped getting responses from his father altogether. This left Nate very worried about his dad, even if his dad wasn’t the most pleasant.
AdultNate continued to work in his family’s flower shop, even got to learn how to run it if no one else was there to work. Things seemed to be nice and peaceful, without his dad around Nate felt more comfortable in general. Till one day his mom got a letter from the fishing guild his dad was in, saying that his father had died while out at sea during a storm and that they were going to be hosting a funeral for him and the other crew members that died. After him and his mom attended the funeral, he felt somewhat responsible for his dad’s death. In not staying with his dad, even if he was a bit harsh, left him not much of a reason to come home right away and stay out longer. Nate then felt concern for others, if he didn’t stay with them or if he wasn’t talking them they might end up doing something dangerous and end up dying. He still feels this concern for his mom, grandparents, and other people he’s close to.

- Prefers to be called Nate out in public, really doesn't go by his full name unless it's for business.
- Calling him by his full name Nathaniel, makes him feel pretty uncomfortable and anxious.
- He has a tendency to wrap his tail around people he likes.
- He used to do this with his mom a lot.
- Loves being out in the sunlight.
- He doesn't like being cold, often curls up with his coat when he feels cold.
- Adores flowers, has a garden of his own at within his home!
- His favorite kind of flower has always been roses though and loves giving them away as gifts.

- Nate's tail is very long and tends to drag around the ground when he walks.
- It's strong and prehensile enough for him to use it to pick up objects.
- He tends to trip on it on occasion.
- In true Serperior fashion, his glare will stop people dead in their tracks.
- He doesn't use it that often, and sometimes it activates on accident.
- Usually in times of severe stress as he uses this as a way to escape.
- The ear looking things on his head is indeed his ears.
- They do kind of droop when he's upset and perk up when he's happier. Etc.
- Don't have any enhanced hearing though, but are susceptible to being ripped and torn. Have a similar strength to leaves, aka they are easy to cut.
- His pupils don't exactly change a lot; they mostly stay in slits.
