Arch enemies from the distant past have re-risen and joined forces, to rampage and destroy, but 10 heroes, champions great battles, have come to stop the evil beings. Individually, they are a force to be reckoned with but together, with their friendship and unity, they are invincible...

Season 9 may have started out generic with the two-episode premiere, but hopefully the tension gets bigger and better for the rest of the episodes until the finale. And maybe Storm could fit in the ranks to replace Sombra, but... I don't know.

Let me guess the aftermath of the villains.
Bray: Turns to the side of good.
Tirek: Escapes unreformed.
Queen Chrysalis: Becomes reformed like the rest of the changelings and now lives peacefully with her people.
Cozy Glow: Sees the error of her ways and goes back to learning at the School of Friendship.
Sombra: Freed from the corruption of the Alicorn Amulet and now lives peacefully with Radient Hope.
The Storm King: Not sure about him yet.
The Dazzelings: Reform after seeing the error of their ways and return to the human world to live out peaceful lives.
Phew.... How close was that to what you had in mind? I certainly hope I got the Dazzelings right.

At the end of Age of Equestria: The Return of Tambelon:
1.) The Dazzlings reform after Grogar betrays them by nearly killing the three of them with his dark magic.
2.) The Storm King learns the error of his ways and later joins Captain Celaeno as her new crewmember.
3.) Tirek vows to avenge the death of his mentor and escapes after rejecting Twilight and Courageous' offer for redemption.
4.) Queen Chrysalis does reform after learning the error of her ways and now lives peacefully with the Changelings.
5.) King Sombra gets freed from the corruption of the Alicorn Amulet before he helps RadiantΒ Hope restore Princess Amore's broken statue.
6.) Bray does turn to the good side after Grogar betrays him by locking him inside a dungeon filled with his undead soldiers.
7.) Cozy Glow sees the error of her ways and goes back to learning at the School of Friendship and later becomes a new Cutie Mark Crusader.
8.) Grogar gets destroyed when our heroes unleash the Magic of Friendship to ring the Bell of Freedom, thus destroying the source of Grogar's evil power (his golden bell)
