That would be marvelous. And since I've always wanted to explore Art Nouveau in Brussels it might also be convenient...

"meets the legal code distance here of no more than a 4" gap"
do you mean the gaps withinn the interior of the design? so know ones head goes through i take it?
beautiful piece.

Yes,Penelope that's it.
The inspector uses a 4 inch diameter ball, and if he can pass it through ANYWHERE on the rail,it does not pass...
While I applaud measures designed for safety I think this goes a bit too far.In a state that charges only $20 for using a cell phone while driving,(which is an obvious a serious health hazard causing many accidents and deaths DAILY)to accord such a stringent and myopic attention to the "danger of railings for infants"seems somewhat obsessive...In Europe there are no such standards and it is assumed parents have a more active role in preventing their children from entanglement. This has an obvious and dramatic effect on BEAUTY since European artists are much more free to design compositions with open spaces.
So now you can see that the effort here to create a still beautiful rail with so much metal required to fill the space ,can be a daunting challenge...

fair enough.
the fine here for cellphone use while driving is 25o i think, somewhere up there, but no one gets fined so...

So...
people get slaughtered needlessly because of our collective addiction to multi-tasking.

hahaha, one of the greatest question facing humanity in so many media and disciplines has been "man inherently good or evil?"
i think a much more honest discussion would be man, stupid and self destructive or able to breathe unaided?
thats not so glamorous though.

I think each person has to answer that riddle for themselves and if they have the skills,to act upon their decision and help others who doubt their own abilities.Sooner than later (I suspect) humanity must decide as a whole to make major changes in the way we carry on or our survival and stewardship will come to an end...

thanks Alex,
Hey,I just looked through your gallery.I hope you will allow me some observations...
You've acquired great technical skill with the pencil and your eye is trained, but you've been drawing from photographs and no matter what you do those images will always turn out a little flat because photos are two dimensional.
I know you're ready for drawing from life.
It's a hell of a lot harder at first but it gets easier as time goes on and with practice you will improve rapidly.
You have a great innate sense of scale and that's a gift.It will help immeasurably for drawing what you see from life.Drawing from life will help teach you three dimensional MODELING,LINE QUALITY and strategic shading...
I can spot potential talent, and you've got it.
IMHO You just need a little guidance from time to time.
And now's the time to reach another plateau in your craft...so go for it !
