Glad you like it Ed.
Your shot of the Mary Todd made me start.
I grew up in Maine sailing, with,in,and around those windjammers...

Lol, I was desperately trying to make lemonade with the lemons I was handed that day. Heavy mist everywhere throughout Acadia and Bar Harbor as well as the rest of the island. I was able to get a few shots in the harbor to turn out ok and one from up top of Cadillac Mountain of a cruise ship that looked like it was sailing across the clouds of mist. My wife is from Ellsworth, ME and we head up that way every year to visit family and friends. I love sailing ships and the great outdoors so Maine is like a second home to me.

Thank you Vlad.
I have developed contacts in the area that call me when they generate interesting scrap. They know it will be put to a good re-purposed use,and in this oblique way they take part in the creative process...

Only the best wildlife film team on the planet [and she's a stone cold babe - even now, at close to my age]. If you ever get a chance, you should watch those videos. They actually have a new one [The Last Lion] that's been playing on The Nat Geo Channel the past few weeks. In fact, I have the Blu-Ray on pre-order.
Which.. the original comment was sort of a wise-ass reference to them filming during the rainy season, which they seem to do a lot. Would have been more funny, if you knew who they were, I guess. Maybe not..

My father was a master sculptor and made nearly everything in our house when I was a kid growing up in a remote fishing village on the coast of Maine.I got accustomed to being surrounded by hand made items and the orientation to make all the things I need instead of buying soulless manufactured goods...

There's something very wonderful in that mantra, and although; for lack of better knowledge mostly, I'm fairly incapable of making much of what I own/need/want I do try when and where I can I think having that direct, tangible, tactile, experiential connection to life is devolving, lol, you know? I mean, I tattoo for a living, so I guess my "creations" aren't necessarily "needed," as in the way of your gate for example, but I still feel like I use my mind, body, and soul to actually make something, for other people, in a constructive manner...

Body ornamentation has become a high art,and has always held a special place through the ages.Half of the things I make serve no practical function other than to provoke a dialogue with the viewer, but some might say this in itself is a VITAL function for us complicated humans...
