Description
It's 1943 and the most known battle is fought on the Eastern front. It's the battle of Stalingrad also called by German soldiers as War of the Rats, because it's fought inside the buildings rather than outside the conventional way. At the end of 1942 the soviet operation Uran started. The succes of the operation meant that the German 6th army was surrounded and closed inside the city with no chance of retreat. Germans started the operation called Nord Wind which was supposed to break the encirclement of the city and help the German troops inside. But the operation was a failure. The encirclement was closing further and further and at the beginning of March Feldmarschal Paulus and his 6th army capitulated. It is also known that the soviet victory at the Stalingrad was the beginning of the end of Third Reich.
