(I've heard this said by many great artists, and i tend to agree....it's not so much talent as it is skill. You HAVE the talent...I can see and feel it in you work. That talent is what allows you to learn and acquire new skills....and it all comes in time with practice.)

I like how slightly varied the pose is from the original. The styles are variant enough to make it very interesting regardless.
Careful with the pigtails though. At first I thought she had a ponytail with some awkward bangs. Then I realized you were going for pigtails (after checking out link). Try placing them more on the sides of the head so we can see the tie point and help clarify their placement.
Consider such things when choosing poses...how will effect the readability of other details within the costume and design of a character?
Great details with the pencils and the pose is just rockin'!

*Red-Sakura had also sent other refs from screenshots of her character on ragnarok online. The pigtails weren't so much on the sides as they were nearer to the back. But I see what you mean.....regardless of my "excuse", one of those pigtails is definitely off. Her left one should overlap her head instead of the way it is. oh well.
