Nicely done. The detail around the eye is incredible.

I saw it first as a thumbnail and thought it was a photograph for a moment. I really like how the eye turned out. I'm not sure of the iris' oval shape, but you even caught the reflected gleam on the lens. The upward angle of the mouth makes it seem like it's smiling askance at the viewer. Even if the backdrop weren't blurred, the dinosaur's compelling realism in the foreground would still be gripping; the blurring only adds to that impression. Since you already have an idea of what Hyacinth looks like, I'm eager to see what that looks like. If it's better than this,... *whistle*

This is simply amazing! Beautiful details, and great use of subtle skin tones!
I'd love to learn how to paint white by using various colors... Would you recommend the book?

I would absolutely recommend the book. I have another one by him called Imaginative Realism, which is good too.

If I had to choose, I'd get Color and Light. It focuses more on painting techniques and composition in general, while the other one focuses more on making made-up things look and feel believable. They're both good though, and worth the price.
