It is finally finished!

Well, not quite. I still would like to add some cloud cover and maybe a few mission labels for interesting features or points of interest. But all in all I quite like how it tuned out.

Being a very large planet with a slower rotation and a thicker atmosphere, atmospheric circulation behaves differently than on earth, looping in one large Hadley cell from equator to pole and resulting in an equable climate. This causes precipitation to occur planet-wide and not just in the tropics as on earth. Desert regions are confined to continental interiors where moisture cannot reach and on the leeward side of large mountain ranges due to the rain shadow effect.

The majority of photosynthetic pigments fall in the red to yellow color ranges, staining the surface of the continents a ruddy brown. Deeper red indicates lusher vegetation.
