Yes, the fanfic mentioned is mine. And yes, I did all those horrible things to Ash. I like tormenting my favorite characters.
And my wallpaper is art by the wonderful and infamous . It really makes beautiful desktops on my computer.

Nah. You didn't offend me. I know full well Ash cannot be Giovanni's father. In fact, I was one of the loudest protesters against this fan theory. Until one day, I was like... what if he was? How messed up would that be? After that, I just had fun with it.
So yeah I totally agree with you. It's impossible. But for the sake of my stories, I like to write about Ash's father as being Giovanni- impossible or not. I don't like him to be just some random faceless character that I make up (which is what I used to do). I'd rather use character established in the show.
Kinda wanted to do that will William too- use a character from the show but I figured I might get attacked if I did that to a beloved side character or something.
In the past, I invented Ash's father as this awesome trainer who died young. His name was Jeffrey. He had about as much personality as a block of wood. And his inclusion in my old fanfics were just sad. I enjoy writing about Ash having a more dysfunctional family rather than just one that was struck with tragedy. Because I like to think no one is perfect. And making Giovanni, Ash's Dad- really humanizes Ash's Mom in my eyes. Makes you wonder about them. Why would Delia ever be with someone like Giovanni? So in that vein, it was just a selfish way for me to explore Ash's Mom's character some more. And also to add another torturous element into Ash's life.
Hence him yelling at me in this. Because he has a point.

Giovanni could not be Ash's father, although there is a chance he is Red's father. FACT: Red died his hair brown so he would not be mistaken for Ash, who was a terrible trainer.

let's see. i make him pass out from fever, get a concussion, suffer from lack of dad angst, suffer from mom doesn't understand angst, suffer from does misty love me angst (the various angsts), I get him kidnapped, kicked in the face, dropped nine stories, broken limbs... etc etc.
And this is only the beginning of the story. He's got it pretty good at the moment.
