Candace’s power controlled the first half of the match, her aggressive style continually pushing Jennifer backwards and on the defensive. Jennifer though, hung around and hung tough, refusing to be put away. Finding just enough offense and determination to stay in the fight.

Then her own stamina kicked in.   It was a true strength of hers. She used her fitness as an advantage as often as possible. Tossing folks around is impressive but it takes a toll and Candace was slowing down.   It allowed Jennifer to start fighting back.

When the match went to the mat on a more regular basis, Jennifer knew the tide had turned in her favor. Down there Candace’s power advantage was gone. Soon Jennifer’s wrestling skills took command and when she finally locked in a triangle choke the end was near.

Jennifer thrust her hips up and into Candace’s throat and head and the pain and terror on her face become clear.   In an instant she was tapping her submission on to Jennifer’s thigh.

“That’s it Jen, she’s finished!!” Diane said, racing in to break the hold.

Getting to her feet, Jennifer found herself in the winning position for the first time in a long time and it felt great.

“The winner by submission and three league points… Jennifer Watson!”

Words its seemed like had been forever since she heard, but now that she did Jennifer smiled, some of that smile was plain old relief.
