... of what I believe is some cultivar of Hippeastrum - but don't quote me on that.Taken in the Begonia House at the Wellington Botanic Gardens, New Zealand.
Lens used is the the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens.

Amazing depth...when you see a photo like this, it is difficult to casually stroll past a flower and simply refuse to acknowledge their contrasts/colours/textures. When photographed well, a flower will take on a degree of 'other worldliness' that is both intriguing and exciting. You see that facet and are able to highlight it for others. Beautiful and insightful work.
