Margygr is named after a type of mermaid described in the Norwegian educational text The King's Mirror, written around 1250.
History
Monarch discovered Margygr dead in the Arctic, killed by another Titan. They transported her corpse to their underwater base, Castle Bravo, for further study.
Trivia
Unused concept art matching Margygr's description in the novelization is included in The Art of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, indicating that she was cut from the movie. She thus joins Megalon and Bagan as one of the only monsters to be rejected for a Godzilla film, then turn up in other official media.
