I really like the picture, however I find the coffee cup a little distracting. If it was placed farther to the left I think it would better serve its purpose. Other than that it looks great!

To tell you the truth, I felt the same thing while looking down into the viewfinder.
However I felt awkward moving his cup so I decided to go with it since I was satisfied with his expression @ the time.
In a way, the randomly placed cup adds to the chance, realness factor of the portrait in my mind.

Hehe, I hear you on feeling awkward on moving the cup. Capturing that moment and his expression at the time are rewarding enough to overlook the cup.
Looking at the picture again I see what you're saying about the realness factor.
