Description I tried doing a Mas GT a few weeks ago but couldn't find a good reference. I finally did, and this is the result. The building reflection is strong, I know, but it looks unfinished without it.

The light was definitely the most time consuming part.

3 days, 400ish layers.

Download for the full sized, 1600x1000px beast.

Edit 8/2: Because of the number of comments I was getting on the wheels, I added a motion-y background (the one from the original). I also fixed up a few places.

At a glance it looks just like a promotional photo. Only when you examine it closely can you tell that its not a photo. Very well done. I'd love to know the process behind it. I've only done a two so far.

Personally I think the motion is spot on. The road and background have enough blur to make it seem like the car is making a turn ... maybe a very FAST turn but I like it. The outlines are appropriate IMO too because this is vexel ... it's done like that all the time. You may look for a balance between realism and toon and lean more toward one or the other, but like I said, it's often done this way. It's not a still life painting ... it's vexel.

From the thumbnail, I thought this was a photograph. Great work, man. You getter better and better with each one you do.

My only suggestion is to maybe slightly lower the opacity of the reflections on the car. Also, I still feel like some of your outlines are too bold...it's weird because parts of it look super realistic, while other parts look a little cartoonish.

This is great, though. I love what you did with the background.

thanks ;D

i'll keep experimenting with outline widths, i agree with you about the fake/real thing.

and thanks for the fav

i dont like the wheels too much. they have too much motion in them, when nothing else in the image suggests motion. it kind of throws you off. other than that, I dont understand how these pictures dont get more publicity. you're getting really good at vectors/vexels. maybe try doing some sort of specialized background for the next one?

yeah, i know. i tried adding a background with buildings and something to make it look more in place, but everything i added just distracted from the car. ah well.
