On my 18th birthday, I was given a Hoya 28-85 for my Cosina CS3 35mm SLR. I always had it screwed down to 28mm. 30 years later, my last lens was always wide open at 17mm, so I decided to go the whole hog and go for an ultra wide zoom. It was darned expensive, but worth the wait. I am still getting the hang of it, as you can stand with your nose against the wall and still get the roof in the shot! Cheers
