And oh man, Wild Arms XF. I saw the cover art of the game and I fell in love with the style! D: I'm such a sucker! But then I played it........ maybe tactical games aren't for me. ._.;
Though I love that guy! Man. I want a guy like that hanging around me in his giant trench coat saying things like "I'm awake if you want me to be". THAT'S MY KINDA MAN! Hot, loyal, protective, and totally subservient!

Which I tried for this drawing. Still gotta figure out how to make better use of it though.
XF is even more unforgiving than FFTactics. It REALLY wants you to use your head, as early on it'll put your level 5 or whatever people against lv25 enemies, and all sorts of crazy restrictions on movement. Any real Wild ARMs is better than XF, this just has the BEST soundtrack on it's side.
I still haven't beat XF, but from where the plot is obviously going, doesn't Clarissa wind up with that little whiny boy that's jealous of Felius?

I didn't beat it either. -_- I ran out of patience when I got to a certain point. I was having my extra guys go out on missions I think to gather materials and I was working on making money. It was taking FOREVER to upgrade my damn equipment which I needed to keep progressing since I was having such a hard time. I was also working on skills or levels or something... it's all a blur of time wasting.
The soundtrack was pretty good though.
Oh! And you never did tell me if you got it or not.

It was the best. 8) If you listen to all of it, given you and I didn't hear probably half of it.
It was wise to have lots of units. x.x People that would handle the material missions you wouldn't ever take into battle, people that only serve one purpose in battle. I was struggling on some sort of invasion mission until I looked at a walkthrough that said to have two people be Geomancers and focus on locking out hexes the entire time, so that the enemy was forced to take a different route... AND IT SUDDENLY BECAME INCREDIBLY EASY.

I haven't played 4 yet. It asked to load a save file from Alter Code: F for extra Gella or goodies or some crap, and being the tool I am, was like "Fuuuuuuuuuuuck, no!". So I never played it and started playing Alter Code: F instead. I should probably beat that some day. :S
But 5 was amazing, yes. *o*

XF here has even better music than 5, which made my mind explode. Too bad it's tedious annoying Tactics game that got horrible reviews.

And noooo, Wild Arms 5 has a lot of Cameos! The folk from 4 show up there and it's so cool you totally go like "oh, it's them!" Only you don't because you played it before 4 >_<
But yes, the plot was insane, I loved it xD. It was harder than 4, though, for me.
I don't like farming, so normally I try to fight that by never avoiding foes, in the hopes that'll mean I'm always strong enough to kick some boss bunyan!
Some games it's not that easy though xD, 5 was one of them. All Final Fantasies kinda have that hardship too D:

The reviews are right though, the awesome music doesn't save XF.
I knew the people from 4 though, lol. Everyone from the previous Wild Arms is 5, it's nifty.
Farming, oh boy. I love the Black Market in that game, because you pay for items WITH LEVELS. Like -10 levels for a rare-ish item. It ensures that you will always be leveling up. x____x
But once those 4 optional tough dungeons are open near the end, I got my characters to lv99 very fast, so I don't see why it couldn't be done multiple times. Still seems annooooooying though.
The final fight with Asgard and Volsung's ...golem-mech-thing, I found to be hilarious. xD Even more reason I love the soundtrack, since they chose a (hopefully intentional) cheesey song straight out of an old Gundam Wing from the 80's.
Gotta love Dean's commentary during those fights too. "ASGARD, YOU'RE THE COOLEST!!!".

I think I finished the game with them at lvl 70, and that's because I didn't have a choice. On wild arms 4, my peeps were around lvl 40
And yes, well those are the moments where you can't really think, right? You just absorb and enjoy it like the child you are hahaha xD, all the silliness. Very amusing.
And that's from Gundam Wing??!! I didn't recognize it at all xD. Gundam Wing was the only Gundam I watched. No, wait, also watched 0, but only the first season :3

When you play too many RPGs you aren't satisfied with simply beating them anymore, lol. Or when you realize that final bosses aren't meant to be a challenge and are more of a story ending spectacle, as all games have those optional secret bosses that are the hard ones.
