Description Moonracer

I first heard of Moonracer when I found pictures of a green custom repaint of Animated Arcee on the Internet. But I never realized how obscure she was until I watched Chris McFeely’s Basics video on her which was uploaded during Obscure Character’s Month.

Moonracer first appeared in the Season 2 episode of the original G1 cartoon, “The Search for Alpha Trion”, as part of Elita-1’s squad of female Autobots battling against Shockwave on Cybertron. She was characterized as an enthusiastic young sharpshooter who full of naïve optimism. She hated it when the Decepticons and even her fellow Autobots dismiss her for being simply too cute, but she’ll show them. She had a relationship with the Autobot Powerglide who said she is the best sharpshooter in the galaxy.

After that, Moonracer’s appearances were limited to comic books. She would make her first on-screen appearance in the War for Cybertron Trilogy cartoon on Netflix, where she was some of the Autobots recruited by Optimus Prime as he assisted Jetfire in finding the Allspark. Unfortunately, during the mission, Moonracer was killed by a group of zombie Cybertronians.
(Yes, it’s 2024 and I still haven’t forgiven Netflix for doing her dirty.)

Moonracer also had very few toys.
1. BotCon 2005’s “Descent into Evil” set included a Moonracer repaint of Energon Arcee, but for trademark reasons, this toy was renamed, “Chromia”.
2. Moonracer would get a new toy in the Power of the Primes toyline which further resembled her appearance in the original G1 cartoon. This Moonracer had the ability to transform into an arm or leg of a combiner.

Outside of G1, Moonracer had very limited appearances. She appeared in the Aligned Continuity (through the 2015 Robots in Disguise series) as one of the many Autobots blacklisted by the High Council (revealed to be Cyclonus and his minions in disguise) for supporting Optimus Prime.

For my version of Moonracer, I originally thought of giving her a purple color scheme before settling with her traditional green color scheme.

Bio:
Upon arriving on Earth, Moonracer was even more infuriated when both Autobots and Decepticons see her as just being “too cute”, but she’ll show them.

Alt Mode:
Moonracer transforms into a green motorcycle similar to Arcee.

Weapons/Accessories:
1. Hand-transforming blasters
2. Grenades
3. Swords
