"So are you eating well?" The long-haired blonde boy asked, smile beaming as bright as the sun. Though, it annoyed Arthur how Francis kept fiddling with his sleeve. He looked away, off to some bush in the distant, his pet rabbit nestled tightly in the crook of his arms. "Sure... I guess.." He mumbled. Francis nodded and cocked his head, pleased with the boy's health. "Um... hey Francis..." Arthur mumbled, "... why... why do you think father doesn't like me?" Francis suddenly blinked in an akward fashion, no smile found on his face. In fact, something grave settled on his expression and he stopped fiddling with his sleeve immediately. "I.. I don't know, Arthur..." Painful memories of the night before filled Francis' mind, and forcd himself to stop trembling. But not before Arthur had noticed. "Hey! What's wrong?" His rabbit was held tight to the boy's chest. "N-nothing. Um... so, how's things in the forest" Arthur blinked in confusion then nodded. "Good.." Francis smiled weakly, "That's good."

This is a picture off of a fanfic that my friends and I have formed in our heads. The fanfic consists of explaining how the countries formed. This particular drawing is off of the section of the fanfic called House of Germania. In this scene, France is visiting Arthur in the forest, but he suffers from a harsh beating from their father the night before. Not wanting to worry Arthur, he struggles to hide the bruises that wrap around his arms. The Germanian Household is very harsh when it comes to rules, Francis and Gilbert usually being the ones to break all of them and get beaten down harshly. But I must say, Feliks (Poland) probably gets the worst of the beatings because he's gay :/
