Description
I was a pathfinder, my job was to find the way forward and show others the way forward. but i became lost in every since of the word, and who's supposed to lead the person who supposedly knows the way. mentally i couldn't be with myself in those moments. i didn't get lost i never get lost, I'd hiked these trails a hundred times there's no way.

physically my body could take it, as i said i hiked these trails a hundred times, emotionally I'd beaten myself up a hundred times over and then some. but i couldn't deny the fact that i didn't know where i was or where i was going. and i had to learn how to live with that so i could move forward and find my way out of the mess I'd gotten myself into.

i spent what must've been hours searching around the area for signs of life, for other people who could maybe give me a hand in finding my footing. but i was alone here and the careless mistakes i made with my ego so high had lead me to this point. the only thing to do was to take what I'd learned about pathfinding in life and apply it here.

after those long hours of hiking i happened to notice a light in the distance, it came and then it went. must be a lighthouse i thought to myself, and if the light is on someone must be home. so without hesitation i followed that light towards an old beat up home. it was a pretty steep climb up to get there but i did it. soon after i knocked on the door of the house, and older gentlemen answered and i asked him if he could help me get back home.

I'd heard him chuckle in a knowing tone before he spoke, "that is what this lighthouse does my boy" he said before inviting me in. "i wouldn't be much of a keeper if i didn't know my way around these woods" i sat at a table as be poured us both a cup of tea before he sat across from me and offered it to me. i graciously excepted and began to take a drink before he spoke again. "although this lighthouse has been out of service for quite some time, i bought it many years ago and i keep that light shining because every year someone gets lost down there, and as usual they need something to guide them back."

that encounter taught me many things, were all a little lost sometimes, we don't always have the answers, and we all need a lighthouse in our lives when the path just isn't there anymore.
