Description It's been a while since I colored something digitally, so I took some time off this afternoon and practiced on this Kara sketch of Michael Turners. I have mixed feelings about uploading it here, because one of my biggest pet peeves is when people digitally alter works of artists whom I like... and not very well...

Hopefully I did Michael's line art justice, I chose it specifically because I felt it was more similar to my own style and it would give me more practice that way. This is a pretty rare sketch I have never seen colored before.

Once again, I do not own Supergirl and this sketch is the property of Michael Turner. I only supplied the colors.

I recently did a second "evil" version of Kara inspired by her look in the comic. It can be found here: [link]

I feel like I've seen the original of this before, rare though it may be to find. But I do promise that it came out very well. When I think back to the Michael Turner original, I could definitely see the resemblance in styles between you two, so I think it comes as no surprise that this came out, lines and all, very well.

Maybe the only thing I can think of is that her exposed stomach/abs look a little strange. In a way, the more-or-less straight line down works for her age -- to make her appear younger, thinner, and perhaps still in need of skilled training -- but I would have added just a bit more curve to those parallel lines. Even if you weren't looking to accentuate the abdominal muscles, it's not really too fitting of a female to be built on straight lines. Men, yes, but women are built on curves -- though you're a better source for such info as I am. *snicker*

Regardless, I still think your colors and line art turned out really, really well.

Thank you for your kinds words, Lubu, but I can't take credit for Michael's fantastic pencils. I didn't draw Kara, I merely employed my coloring skills on one of his convention sketches that I dug up at the Bastet:[link]

Thanks for commenting, though, and I wanted to let you know that I'm really into Part I of Cthulhu Dreams. I'll write you a full review as soon as I'm done.

Ahh, I see. I wasn't quite sure what you meant in the work you did on those pictures. I think that stands as a testament to how little I know of the technique of art outside of the written word and musical score. Somehow, I had a feeling that I was misunderstanding something, and the flaws in Kara were not of your doing.

That being said, your work was excellent!

Part II, damn it. Ugh, why can't they just let us go back and edit our previous posts?

Oh, and since I was typing that comment reply out on my PSP, I didn't have the chance to add that I'm really excited to hear what you have to say about Part II. I've received a bit of feedback, and so far most of my friends who've read it say that Part II is the best part so far. I'm not sure which one's my favorite, but I can't wait for your full opinion on it!
