Just to say, Dexter's voice actor was Christine Cavanaugh, and Dee Dee's is Kat Cressida, though the voice actors changed through seasons 3 and 4. They were not young girls.
Yes, the show is definitely weird in a lot of points, I can agree fully. Some episodes really exaggerated with things. It's fine not to like the show. I respect that.

The 3 and 4 seasons were the weakest in the series. I really don't recommend watching them just because, yes, there were points that got out of hand, as you saw. Those seasons weren't directed by the original creator.
Ego Trip still holds up pretty well. I still appreciate the show for having some plots and storytelling, even if it was few.
