Description
After the carnage in the hunter's hut, the villagers had announced the opening of a wolf hunt, and Asgarel understood what predator they were after.

After warning his mentor, he went off for days to hunt down the beast, armed with a bow and a knife. His sharp senses allowed him to follow the slightest trace and to understand to whom they belonged to. All these years of training and murders have made him a formidable assassin.

It was not until the third day that he finally found his prey. During a hot day, Nox lay beside a river. Cradled by the flow of the water and the song of the birds, he let himself be carried away by his daydreams. Although the lycan didn't seem particularly impressive, nor hostile, but Asgarel, hidden behind a nearby tree, nocked his first arrow. This arrow, as well as all the others Asgarel had, was made of silver, the only material known to be able to kill the monsters.

As he was about to shot, a strange noise made the werewolf jump. Birds flew towards the archer, revealing his position. Nox stood up and saw him. Still drowsy, he had difficulty distinguishing the danger that stood before him.

Without hesitation, Asgarel sent down his projectile, which landed in the left flank of the lycan. Nox screamed in pain and began to run into the depths of the forest. The archer ran after him, but in a hurry he stumbled and yelp a curse word or two under his breath.
It was his first time chasing a monster, and he had no intention of letting it escape.

The unbearable pain of Nox’s wound slowed him down, allowing the hunter to catch up with him without difficulty. He stopped along the way, readied his second arrow and shot, hitting his target straight in the back. The werewolf collapsed but managed to get back upright, before the third arrow fired landed in his right ankle, causing Nox to collapse a second time.

Asgarel, rather proud, took out his knife and approached Nox. The werewolf was exhausted and dragged himself to the floor of an old oak tree. His rapid breathing showed how intense the pain was. A sensation of burning coursed though his whole body. Silver had a reputation for dissolving the insides of its victims, like acid.

At his height, Asgarel knelt. The silver blade of his knife, so pure, reflected the face of the totally exhausted lycan. With his head bowed, he contemplated him and said, disappointed; “I would have hoped for a longer and more sensational track.”
Nox dind't have the strength to answer. He let himself go. For him, it was the end of a long and deplorable life…

Suddenly, a rickety and lively voice was heard; “Here you are!”

Asgarel, surprised, straightened up and stepped aside. Nox, leaning against the tree, barely conscious, raised his head.

Before him was a horrible and colossal creature. The heavy sound of its footsteps resounded in the forest. At each stride, the beast appeared more and more clearly, revealing terrifying details. Long and powerful limbs, ending in long sharp claws. Its body bore scars everywhere, one of which dominated a part of his face thus testifying to the aggressiveness of this monster. Its piercing yellow eyes gave an intrusive look. Its face was that of a wolf with sharp pointed teeth. Its skin was a sinister gray, and its washed-out hair showed how old the werewolf was.

The beast stopped before Nox, and a voice resounded in his head :

“My son.”
