Description I did this sketch about.... 9 months ago? That pencil drawing was done on flight from LGA for my friend =Rawliett as a gift. I've met her a couple years ago as a watcher of my works through DA but now we are brilliant irl friends with amazing, passionate travel plans :>

I really cherish that unique opportunity on devART where I've met many fantastic people and artists, not mentioning online but with many of them I've became friends with till now. Friendships and connections which I greatly value. I could write how it is fantastic just tons of pages…. literally a book.
Every person which I've met and experienced the time with them was an unique chapter of the story because one person I've met locally and another which was thousands of miles away! Every person which I've met, was from a different cuture and has shown a piece of their world which I witnessed. It was so magical, I felt like I was travelling in the time.

I very treasure all friends which I've met through devART and became irl ones. Like naturally I feel knowing them since ever, not just empty, virtual online people.

Where that person lives, if that's about a few miles or thousands- it's regardless. When destiny will show a brilliant light (a friendship/connection) and will build a rainbow bridge that our meeting will happen. As long both sides want. I always want. I don't see a distance. Unlike many people who question "oh how is possible!", I see a rainbow bridge.

"Can I be friends with u???" "no, u can't!"

Many people think that usually good artists only want to be friends with good one… aka "elitist" circle- but no, that's just a stereotype I think. Especially for me that's how it is. For me it's really regardless if you are just a watcher, popular artist or amazing artist.
I've met and became friends in person with many brilliant artists and as well watchers… actually, I think more amazing friends I have are watchers than artists.

All what determines… is the connection. I believe there is some kind of energy in the universe. To simply put, the best way is to be "yourself" and be natural person. I've seen so many people who pursued to be friends with me because of selfish benefits such like (OMG I'm friends with awesome artist!!one11) or if people are looking blindlessly for my art not me as a human or treat me like higher than by themselves they are (being as a minors on their own wish) which naturally threw me off and I never became friends with any of these. Of course to be a fan of someone's works is okay but what determines is the interest with that person behind the pictures. Artist but view as a human. A human which may be right for you or not.

So simply to say, it's impossible to be friends so straightly asked "can we be friends?" where a friendship is natural (and long!) process of building bonds, which involves many unexpected events to strike happen to build a bond between people. It's like a chemistry. Friendships so straightly asked without any process is a fake friendship. Pretendful one. It's very much same like you find a pretty girl on a street and walk to her by saying "can we become lovers?"?
All questions "can we become friends" I will treat like someone is straightly asking me if I can love someone so suddenly. And pursuing for friendship with artist because is popular/awesome artist will end as awful experience for people.

PS: That's what I miss today on devART. I find there are much less value interactive people with glimpse of humanity, passion and a living soul behind computer like it was before.

my art stinks. Yours does not. (omg its AWESOME!!!!!!) It doesn't actually make sense that we could be friends, because people like to make friends with those who can relate to them. You get my point?????

Ok thats just rude. don't say that!! no one sucks at drawing, they just are lower leveled or less advanced or even have different styles.

Pozdrawiam!

I love the details in the face. They make it seem very alien, but still horselike enough to look familiar.
Maybe the El Horse has a friend who ties the beads and pearls into its mane!

I love your thoughts on friendship. Thanks for sharing your many ideas!

I absolutely adore this creature! it's ugly, but at the same time really really beautiful

Your comment is also great, a bit cheesy on the rainbow bridge, but who am I to talk XD (I think everything is cheesy and not too fond of creative ways of expression).
I agree on the social though, it's a lot more of a popularity battle than being genuinely nice to people, and I miss the friendliness I used to get when commenting or receiving comments, ofc it can be the artist is busy and simply don't have the time, but I notice I've also grown cold myself, so can be that too

have you traveled to Norway? I'm just curious, as I live there... I've always wanted to go to Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland. I hate traveling, but as long as it's not too touristy or warm it's great

NovaEden In reply to Morisith [2013-02-16 09:55:16 +0000 UTC]

Hm, people say that I'm naive way too much with positivity, self believing and faith in impossible things but if that has worked for me, so why I'd believe the people? :> And yup, welcome to unrealistic cheap-y sparkly bridges and wings my world :> /jk

Yes, I've been a couple times in Norway and so looking forward to return! Love that country. I'm trying also to learn Norwegian language a bit. And travel to iceland would be really worthy experience, as my best recommendation. Greenland is a bit too extreme, tourist-side of Greenland isn't interesting after all that country is only real and magical when has absolute no glimpse of typical tourism. But that realm is not for everyone due to high technical difficulties.

Thank you!

Morisith In reply to NovaEden [2013-02-16 19:48:46 +0000 UTC]

People don't say that to me, but I know I'm more positive than most, it actually get me in trouble as I use to smile, even on the bus and I get either stalkers (only 3 so far xD) or really ugly looks back. I love drawing dark things, but irl I'm rolling in glitter and is kinda cheesy

I love tundra'ish landscape, so not sure how that is in Greenland? I love riding trips especially, so that is why Iceland is really high on the wishlist. I used to own two Icelandic horses, but one got too old and the other just a foal, so had to give them both up in the end

NovaEden In reply to Morisith [2013-02-17 11:56:39 +0000 UTC]

Yes Greenland does have tundra landscapes but they are very... hmm, wasteland'y and desolated. But really beautiful and colorful. pretty much Like environment on very high elevations. But still both tundras in iceland and canada are similar but technically for hiking greenland is more difficult. I never been in Iceland but it's a place def a must to visit due to unique valleys and volcanic environment.

Wow, glad I clicked on this image.

I really like your speech. It's so true, people shouldn't glomp onto others hoping that maybe some of their artistic spirit will rub off on them (although I have been greatly inspired by the people I watch). Friendship for personal gain is never good. I've found a lot of the "random" people I've ended up watching them just because they talk to me.

Oh, and the horse is really cool, too. Love the jewels in the hair.
