■ Personality:
■ adventurous, imaginative, enthusiastic, bold
A girl with a wild fantasy and a love for adventure. Doesn't matter if it's mysterious sightings or newly emerged urban legends, she's one of the first to go out and see them for herself. Personal tragedy cannot keep her down for long, she will eventually find a way to get back up on her feet. Those she cares about are bound to benefit from her mentality in one way or another, specially in times of need.
■ detached, easily distracted, thickheaded, loner
She tends to overthink and therefore comes off as having her head in the clouds, literally and figuratively. Though she tries, it's not easy for her to find common grounds with people her own age and she'd rather be alone than be shunned for coming off as weird. At the same time, she dislikes forced conformity at the price of forsaking herself.
■ Background:
Botan was just your average human girl, with an average life and an average family. The only thing not average about her was a certain 'condition' that she had, one that would only afflict the female descendants of her lineage. That condition entailed an irrational fear of dogs and a form of sleepwalking, where the soul - in the form of the head - detached from the body to wander about.
All that would not be such a problem, it wasn't much worse than living with asthma. The particular thing about Botan was that her head would randomly detach during waking hours as well. Her condition worsened with puberty and made it hard for her to socialize, but she refused to sit around and do nothing about it. Instead, she began to look for any information concerning the 'nukekubi illness' that her family might've overlooked. Her research led her to works on mythology, urban legends, and the paranormal. Before she knew it, she had developed an avid interest in these topics and began to go on explorations around town, though not always at safe or reasonable times or places. Concerned about her safety and happiness, her family searched far and wide for a solution - at last, relatives from her mother's side offered to have Botan live with them.
These relatives happened to live in Indieville, a place that was more than just a quaint little town. Botan could blend in with its unusual population and lead a relatively normal life, at least until she had more control over her condition or when a better solution had been found. The then 15 year old girl accepted her new life with mixed feelings. On the one hand, she knew that her parents were trying hard to help her and having her move so far across the states was already putting a strain on their budget. On the other hand, it felt like she was a burden they finally managed to get rid of. That probably wasn't true, but it's not easy to think reasonably as a teen being overwhelmed by troubles and insecurities.
Two years had passed since she got settled in Indieville and she'd adapted pretty well to her new circumstances. Despite its status of a dying town, Indieville's history kept her love for urban legends and spooky stories alive. Especially her friendship to an extraterrestrial being named Snoot, who worked as a farmhand on her aunt and uncle's farm, made the transition from living in a big city to a small town a lot more bearable. She even learned to get a better grip on her willful 'head'. Her family stayed in contact with her all this time, though the fact that they never visited didn't help much against her feeling of alienation. For the time being, she decided to concentrate on enjoying life and graduating high school before making any plans for the future.

■ RP Method: I prefer Discord and Email over most other platforms, but I'm willing to adjust to your needs. I will likely have more time and energy for frequent headcanons and occasional crack rps than proper rps. For serious rps, you can expect an average of 2-3 paragraphs per post in lit style. If we can get a good plot going, then I will make sure to at least reply a few times a week, depending on my schedule. My time zone is UTC+2.
■ Shipping?: Depends. Preferably someone around her age considering she's still a minor- that being said, no 18+ content with this gal plz.
