Description
And so it begins!Haha, someone will regret leaving me with the power of posting this story here!
This story happens in an Alternate Universe (AU) of Avatar, where Admiral Zhao didn't die. The Ocean Spirit brought him back, but Zhao's mind has been wiped clean.
Now living amongst the Water Tribe, he's managed to find a place in his adoptive nation.
But his old personality is still there, and pretty soon, things change...

It may start a bit slow, but I swear it does pick up
All the pages are rough pencil thumbnails, size of 5,5"X8". Quite small. A bit of grayscales were added to give depth and volume.
These were done for fun, and also as a good exercise in storytelling and planning on such a long scale, which I had not really done before.
I am not planning on inking, cleaning more or coloring them. I simply do not have the time.
The Avatar universe belongs to Mike, Bryan, Nickelodeon-Viacom-MTV.
All the characters belong to them, but a few of the extras are my own creation.

I found it! I found it! I found it!
I was seeing art of Zhao in watertribe clothes all over the place and I loved them. Then I found out they were coming from / drawn as a tribute to rufftoon , and then I found out there was a comic somewhere....and I couldn't find it. It drove me nuts! (Mind you all this happened within the last 24 hours).
And then, while looking for cake Zhao pics...voila, there it was!

Trying to keep Zhao in character can be hard. I do use the excuse that he's lost his memory to and had to relearn everything to explain any deviation of character. Still, as the story moves forward, I hope I managed to keep some of his bastard attitude. He's fun with it.

I do admit to have a certain love for the earthbenders too- but the Earth Kingdom is not where the Ocean Spirit wanted to send Zhao, unfortunately.
