Description This is one of the greatest challenges i have faced. The left arm is getting covered up, and i am tasked with making it look natural, lovely and on purpose. So, it needs to grow.
To do this, im grading this giant mandala outwards, and my friend Satya handwrote the sanskrit calligraphy on the chest. More of this will follow, but dear god i love doing this piece

It is a Sanskrit mantra from Vedas meaning-
1: Om, Lead us from Unreality (of Transitory Existence) to the Reality (of the Eternal Self),
2: Lead us from the Darkness (of Ignorance) to the Light (of Spiritual Knowledge),
3: Lead us from the Fear of Death to the Knowledge of Immortality.
4: Om Peace, Peace, Peace

This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Β Is there a name for this kind of style? Β The dot shading and graphic, geometric shapes? Β I'm seeing it all over your page but not finding any artists in California who really do this kind of work and I'm wondering if it's something unique to your area? Β I love it.

Dotwork geometry and sacred tattooing in general. But go to NYC and get tattooed by us there instead

Ah thank you! Β And you have a shop in NYC too? Β Is it listed on your website? Β That would be amazing! Β I've been watching videos about Meatshop Tattoo and love the spiritual and personal connection that your artists have with their work. Β It makes getting a tattoo so much more meaningful. Β

do you mind giving me some advice in regards to a design I was tasked with? My brother wants to cover up some old ink that's about 5 x 10inches on his upper right arm. He wants just a new crucifix to cover the old crucifix and I'm not sure how to approach this x.x If you like I could link the old one, I took a picture of it on his arm......not asking you to design for me, just need advice on how to best approach it. It's a basic cross with a ribbon wrapped around it. Thanks if you do decide to answer <3

Needs to be one HUGE cross to cover it well.

x.x I know lol but I'm concerned about the old one showing through. I'd read some sites that said eventually after the new ink settles and is absorbed, the old lines can come through sometimes. I'm still stuck on how to handle the detailing too, in order to over everything that is x.x
Thanks for the reply!

There will usually always be remnants. That is the problem about coverups. If he get 3-5 laser-treatments, you might be in the clear.
