Description
As I crest the hill top, I look in the distance to find the sun half covered by the mountains. I look farther up into the sky, to see the painted indigo with the
vibrant stars on top of the canvas. I look back to the sun to get a better look at
the colors. I have to sit down, on the rock behind me, in the awe of the moment.
The sun was surrounded by the most beautiful hues I've ever seen, crimson to
poppy, poppy to process, process to mulberry, mulberry to violet, violet to navy,
navy to indigo. I sat there, not wanting time to move, so this moment could
never end. But the sun is setting , and I can't stop time. My mother calls me
down. As I get to my feet, I look to the lake below, to find the reflection of the
sunset, it took my breath away. My mother calls again, now I have to leave. As I
take my last look at the horizon, I feel as if I've left a part of my spirit there. So, I can watch the sun set every night over, and over.
