Description I OWN NOTHING. The people behind Rise of the Guardians, Frozen and The Polar Express do.

So I happened to be listening to Josh Groban the other day. yes i'm a teenage girl who listens to josh groban And the ending theme to The Polar Express, Believe, came on while I was shuffle-playing Spotify. And I just got hit with this idea. This whole grand adventure with Jack and Anna proving their worth (Jack as a true Guardian and Anna as more than ordinary, I suppose). Like this sort of pilgrimage to the Moon, journeying through the different domains of the Guardians. Except for slightly different, for instance, the North Pole is actually encased within a glass dome, making it look like a giant, life-size snow globe.

But anyways, I was listening to the Polar Express again and then had another idea. Of Jack as the hero and Anna as the heroine from the movie. I suddenly remembered how the boy struggled in belief while the girl had very positive faith. And then I was like, well, that's similar to one of Jack and Anna's dynamic aspects. Anna is that person who helps him believe, although instead of Santa, himself. So that's when I decided to make this thing. And I decided to use the title Believe because I just feel like it represents everything pretty nicely, I'm weird, but the chorus of the song sounds like encouragement  that Anna would give to Jack.

Story Time

He fell to his knees, landing in the thick snow. His hands fumbled for the wooden pieces of his staff, fingers numbly curling around them. Jack lifted both, eyes still wide in shock. He hardly blinked.

"Jack...!" The boy heard her voice and managed to turn his head toward her. Anna moved stiffly through the frigid environment. "What's wrong?" In response, he held up the remains of his staff. She gasped and he lowered his head. "No..." The girl walked with more purpose, now, reaching her friend and kneeling down beside him. "That can't be... how did it break?"

"Pitch. He was here- just a moment ago." He faced her once more and was surprised to see a look of confusion on her face. "Didn't you see him?"

"No..." Anna shook her head, bewilderment clear in her tone. Now Jack looked to her in bemusement. That didn't make sense, from her distance, she should have seen him. But what did it matter, there were bigger problems ahead of him. Anna spoke again, "Jack, are you alright? You look sort of sick."

He sighed, "Don't you know what this means, Anna?" He held out the broken staff once more and she flinched. "My powers... they're gone." Biting her lip, the girl's eyes lowered and she thought for a moment.

"Maybe we can put it back together?"

"Won't be that easy. It's magic." Was his reply.

"Well, there must be some way to fix it, here, let me see." She offered her hands and he glanced to them blankly before looking to her face. Hope was etched across her features, something surely so impossible in a situation like this. And yet...

Wordlessly, he handed the staff over and she clutched it gingerly within her grasp. Jack lifted his head to watch her attempt and his eyes darkened as he watched her force the broken ends together, shutting her eyes in concentration and gritting her teeth. "What are you doing?"

"Have a little faith in me, will you?" She uttered, before returning to her business. After several moments, Jack groaned in exasperation and snatched at his staff, yanking the pieces from her grip. "Hey!" She exclaimed.

Jack came to his feet, "Just forget it, it's not going to work." His tone came out harsher than he'd meant. Anna blinked, slightly taken aback, but then spoke,

"That's not true, look, just try again and-"

Now Jack had lost his patience, "Give it a rest, already, Anna! It's hopeless!" She was visibly stung by the sharpness behind his words. He acknowledged this and his voice lowered, "Pitch was right. I make a mess of everything." He turned away and slowly began to walk off. Anna shakily stood, face scrunched up with hurt.

After a second, she called after him, "You know... I really wish you'd believe in yourself... as much as I do."

Jack halted.

Oh my gawwwwd!! This is amazing stuff!! Beautifully written! (which I'm sure I've told you hundreds of times, you're a great writer!)
And no worries, I started listening to Groban when I was 11 or 12. The guy is good & has an amazing voice, nobody can deny that!

All I can say now is.... MORE! I love how you wrote Jack & Anna's interactions together. This reminded me so much of the Antarctica scene, which showed Jack's less fun side and his more serious demeanor, also revealing how much he had little faith in himself, in all the capabilities he had. And Anna's words, they reminded me of the scene in Frozen between her & Elsa, in the ice castle, where she never gave up hope to try and persuade Elsa to return to Arendelle, hope and faith in her sister, believing she could unfreeze the kingdom.

You are really talented and creative noodlekuki! Looking forward to more of your work

Wow!!! Thank you so much T_T It really does mean so much that you think so! Oh, lol, ok, good. Yeah, he's really humble and modest guy who doesn't take himself too seriously and yes, a wonderful singer!

*cries* Thaaanks, that little drabble actually fits into the pilgrimage idea I mentioned somewhere in the description where Jack and Anna prove their worth. Thanks, I wanted to write something that reflects one of the most important aspects to their relationship, how faithful Anna would be toward Jack. Yeah, in the Antarctica scene we really saw the effect all those years in isolation had on him. And yes, Anna does act in a similar manner toward Elsa, even after her sister spent their entire childhood avoiding her, even after she told Anna to leave, Anna still believed in Elsa.

Thank you, bellavette!

You're very welcome!!!
I always enjoy reading your stories, even if it's just a short excerpt.
Ah yes, he really is humble and modest in the most amazing way possible, a really great musician of our time!

And you've succeeded in reflecting that important aspect to their relationship
I really got the sense that Anna would still remain faithful and hopeful towards Jack while reading this.
Great job in keeping the characters true to themselves and not straying off, yet still being able to make this crossover pair work! Really, GREAT job!

Thanks

Yup!

Wow, thank you! I'm glad I did good job at expressing the bond they share and how determined Anna is to stand by Jack's side. I'm glad I kept them in character, too, because that's always my main obstacle when writing fanfiction. Thank you so much!
