Description Mkay, this is the first Finished Picture in over a month. I had intended the motive to be "Guy looking out over a landscape", but instead of that clichΓ© I chose another clichΓ© that is more accepted. Two guys hunting another guy. The good thing with this motive is that often the viewer will feel intrigued since the hunted can't be seen. It's a calm picture with perhaps a hinge of tension... "Who are they hunting? Is he hiding in that forest?" Had I added someone running from them, and drawn them more actively in pursuit the "mistery" or "riddle" in the picture would've been replaced by action.
That motive is actually harder to do, since it involves a lot of movement, and you have to put the weight and balance right if you as the artist want to have control over the picture. Just by drawing the hunters differently, the viewer can decide if they'll catch up or if the hunted will be able to run away. If you're not talented enough at movement - controlling who's winning can be really hard.

The way this picture looks however, it looks as if they're not in active pursuit. They've found tracks, and they're following them... but it isn't a "God, he killed our king lets catch him!" kind of hunt. More like they're scouts and kind of interested in these tracks. The archer looks at the forest, thinking "Hmm, someone went into the forest". This feeling is enhanced by the other fellow looking over his shoulder. "Huh, where did that dude come from? Weird, wanna check it out, Bob?" "Nah, Jim... Marge is gonna dance at the Singing Lark tonight... wouldn't wanna miss that!"

Thanks! Even though it's simple, it's one of my favourites... mostly because of the contrasts I think.

Beautiful work with the characters interacting with another beautiful landscape. I'm always interested in how you mix the two elements. Great work.

BROWN LEATHER. :favlove: Yissyiss. Aaaaas I told you, I luff the luvly clothing stuff. Nice to know they're hunting a *guy* not a *girl*. It means they ain't chasing Kytha, so HA.

...Iiiiin other news, I REALLY want to steal archer-guy's outfitte. ;-; But you wouldn't let me, I'd bet, and he'd be lefft nekkie in the middle of winter. Which wouldn't be good. Then again, some people skinny-dip in a half-frozen river in the middle of winter, so running bare in the middle of winter shouldn't be too much of a difference...

Okay, enough rambling. I love this picture, PERIOD.

Great work. The new shading style seems to work wonders for the armor. I think the distant mountains could stand to have some more detail, especially considering the amount of detail put into the characters (nice!).
