Woooow the mood and emotion of this piece is amazing... I love how the colors are warm and bright with the sense of triumph, but also it casts a dark gloom over the dead bodies around him. And his face ohhh my word it is filled with emotion! Ahhhhh!!

I've always found this idea enticing, the last man standing after a terrible conflict. The movie Warrior Queen ended more or less on this note and the tragedy of it was powerful, moving. I almost want to go watch it again now...

I have a super special secret favourites folder called best of the best, where I have less than a page of works, out of my at least 300 pages of favourites. This one deserves to go straight to that very special place. I absolutely love this piece. The colour palette, the moody lighting, the composition and the body position (and how much emotion they invoke), everything is perfect. Details are beautiful without being distracting or overwhelming, the anatomy is perfect, and everything is just right. I love it, I really do.
