A couple of months back (May/June) I had the idea to draw a figure praying but as I did so it came out looking as if he might be scheming as well
This instantly reminded me of Gerald from The Coldfire Trilogy, the Prophet, who was at once probably both the holiest and the vilest living character in the trilogy. So I modified the picture to make it more Gerald-ish, question is does that make it fanart or not?Fast-forward to October, I've unearthed this pic and am left trying to decide what to do for the background
I pick watercolour but the paper is too thin and even though I've tried flattening it with a few textbooks it still came out wrinkly (a certain blurry patch is annoying me). Black border is photoshop.copics, watercolours, pens

in any case, I think your goal was accomplished. I never read comments before getting a good look at the pic itself, and my first impression was somewhere along the lines of: "hey wow, this could nearly be a church window! *zooms in* aww he looks so... at peace... and... hm. smarmy."

Well, if I was drawing and not improving that would really suck! My goal is to be as awesome as the awesome artists and it might take a while to get there but, dammit, I am going to get there
