I didn't know how to draw a young red.. so I.. used another comic and drew from that >_>
well actually, I drew most of it from my memory.. because my mom needed the computer when I was drawing it ._.
So I feel like I stole this, and that's why I feel bad.

I think its fine to use references, but you don't need to copy something for it to be good. You don't need it to look like someone else's, theres no standard that you need to meet. Just use your . Just make up character designs however you want them and try to get anatomy right (which is what references are best for) and you'll be fine. Sorry for being semi-serious, hope this helps.

and there's some whole thing that causes them to wait 1 year that I haven't really thought of..

I was gonna use Poliwag and Machop, but a water gun seems stupid to kill a Machop...

Hmm... maybe have that they were playing outside, and that the Poliwag tackled Machop into a deep pond (like the one manga!Red was thrown into as a little kid) and accidentally drowned it. However, during its struggle, Machop killed Poliwag with like a crit Karate Chop or something.

Hmm... or you could have that they were fighting wild Pokemon for fun, but suddenly... some enemy came up. (like, plot enemy. Like, a black shadow. XD) They tried to defeat it, but in the chaos, Poliwag accidentally hit Machop with a Bubblebeam or something, knocking it out, and then the mysterious Pokemon killed them both. Blue could think that if Red's Poliwag hadn't done that, his Machop would be alive, or some variation of that. XD
