I love the shading, it adds drama to the moood :B And the expressions are really well pulled-off.

JEEEEEEEEEEEEZE I mean really. I'm gonna stray away from mindless babbling and actually write an ..a comment that says good things.
Well first of all, damn has your style grown. It's so unique and fun <3 not just the generic small muzzled wolf with seven different colored butt-wings or whatever. The eyes in here look smaller than..they usually do. I kinda like it o: It gives..idk what it gives but it's nice.
And the shading is so pretty ;u; I always envy he way you use photoshop in such..simple and yet complex ways to make a picture damnit.
And the characters themselves are just gorgeous. The way you drew the fur is adorable, and the expressions of course are a hit <3
I love how everywhere you look there's something to marvel at, no detail is untouched or halfassed. At least that's what it seems to me okay? The background is amazing seriously, and just the whole atmosphere and mood to the picture.
And the rest is unsaid 'cause I'm just speechless.

I mean wow....now I love your art and I love seeing pictures from you but you've really outshined yourself with this one...I can safely say that this is my favorite piece of your art EVER ;_____; its just....beautiful on so many different levels and really just blows me up and away ;;
So first of all...asdfsadf i have got to say that these two make the most ADORABLE couple asdfasdfsdf they're so perfect for each other, they just look incredible together and they're a perfect match sadfsadf ;; <333333333333 sdaasdf and speaking of perfect, you got every bit of Ryan's design PERFECT sadfsdf i cant find a single mistake at all! @.@
And your coloring..is total eyecandy ;_; its just so soft and smooth and its like you could just reach into the picture and pick them both up and hug them and eat them up ;_; I especially love how you colored Ryan's horns there, they're so golden and shiny @.@ And I love the shiny ribbons on Essie's bows...they're so sparkly and pretty and flowy and just sadfasdfsadf really really gorgeous ;;
But...I think my favorite part about this picture is the shading, its so soft and gorgeous and sadfsadf you HAVE GOT to make a tutorial sometime because I can't do soft shading like that to save my life and you just make it look so beautiful and soft and natural...I mean this picture literally looks like a screencap out of an animated movie, its THAT good @.@
And the background...its like the perfect touch, its just so beautiful HOW DID YOU LEARN TO MAKE SUCH GORGEOUS BACKGROUNDS? ;______; The sunset...and the lighting, and the trees...its all just so incredible and perfect...I can TELL you put a lot of effort into this picture....and the result is just jaw-droppingly beautiful....I can't take my eyes off this picture ;;

I like the shading very much and it doesn't look to dark at all to me! It's very nicely detailed. I like the blanket they're sitting on-it looks so realistic as do the trees! Those trees kick butt and the sunset is wonderful too.
