You are welcome. I was wondering if I could use this image as a reference for a paining? I am just trying to branch out my color palate choice to include reds (since I normally only paint with blues/yellows lol). It would just be for me/practice. Would that be ok?

Of course it is. The smooth effect is created by using a very shallow DOF so only the border parts of the petals are truly in focus.
