Friday's here at last, folks!

I hope you had a good week; mine was a bit tricky because of some work-related bad news I received on Monday. Luckily, I decided to view it as an opportunity to do more of my own creator-owned projects, which I'll certainly be able to show you in more details, not being under NDAs

Part of my havving a little more wiggle room this week as I reorganised, meant I could give some color to another Thor: Ragnarok illustration, this time around of the main villainess, the beautiful and deadly Hela. Portrayed by the amazing Cate Blanchett, this was a very welcome surprise in a film full of different mood twists than what we were used to from the God of Thunder in the MCU. As clichéd as her role might be in the movie, Blanchett managed to infuse a lot of life to this character, making it not only a worthy adversary to Thor, but indeed to all of Asgard. Her whole demeanor and lust for vengeance were connected to the story and didn't detract at all from the arc; in fact, she gives all of Asgard quite the shake-up and then some.

As far as the artwork itself goes, I was glad to do this version of the character whilst still feeling I was paying tribute to ol'd Jack "The King" Kirby. They were very careful to use a lot of his designs in the movie and I think that's one of the things I loved themost. The shading on the eyes was particularly tricky but the final effect I think is worth the effort.
