Description
For every hero, there ought to be a suitably repulsive villain. I decided to go as gross as I could with the bad guy this week. We were supposed to reach into our personal experience to design an protagonist and antagonist and here's was came out. Mmmm...tasty, neh? There's a couple of ideas going into this, but I'll keep my words to a minimum...I'll likely talk about it in greater detail on my blog later, for those who are interested: [link]Sorry for the nastiness, but I figure if you're going to do evil...you ought to really go for it. If cute is going to be cute as a button, evil should be evil as crap.

Haha, how funny, I find caterpillar feet to be cute! But regardless, great job on creating a repulsive beast. It works wonderfully as an antagonist. I personally would hesitate about fighting it because I wouldnt want to touch it! Fantastic job!

i cant see that much that is bad about this i understand your a christian zealot but dogs have nipples too at least remove the art filter it makes it harder to view i see no sexual content unless its wearing a thong or has a visible vagina

Interesting monster design - I have to wonder if all the breasts play into some sort of deep seated lizard brain fear (or some newer apocalyptic fear) about other species breeding rapidly and wiping us out.
Either way, very interesting work, kind of suitably creepy, while at the same time pulling off and oddly demure pose.

i like his overall foot... by foot i mean the way his body connects to and interacts with the surface he is on... the way his hands contour to support his massive weight, and also his bizarre elefant-like stumpy feet!
the arms are great, especially the elbows!
the definition is incredible, but it'd be nice to have seen a little more in the "thighs"

you know, you draw some really rad monsters. i'd love to know what your inspiration is for some of this stuff, man - i can see parts of other animals and stuff in them, but they are pretty far from 'real' critters as far as basic composition goes.

Well, there are certain shapes that I enjoy, which really just result out of exploration...thing like knowing I like long skinny forearms just sort of happen. (I do a lot of gestural sketches) But in terms of inspiration I look at a lot of real animals and cultures. This nasty, for instance, is what happens when you meditate on how nasty the mouth of a frill shark is and how repulsive certain caterpillars have always been. That combined with a general sense that thematically I wanted to do a blind, deaf, pasty nocturnal beastie and this is what results. Glad you like it!

The feminine aspect of this character is, believe it or not, entirely coincidental. I originally was just thinking of how much I find most caterpillars really repulsive and then these fleshy little arms just became boob-things
And If I ever bioengineer one of these, it will be for the express purpose of having the personal satisfaction of popping it like a big zit. sorry.

I feel like it represents various parts of the female anatomy. I am not sure if that was intentional. But nevertheless, it is very disturbing and perhaps could use some slime to push it into truly revolting. Slime is always evil.
