Start trying to develop your lines by defining them between two different shades. So rather than having an actual line you see the images shape through its tones. Might help you advance past this sketch phase. Which in itself isnt bad, might just be your style
Also start planning ahead with terms of lighting and shadow, and make the lines color the same as the thing it outlines but darker or brighter.

Thanks for the advice, any vids or websites you can recommend... I have a broken concept of drawing, learning on and off for the last 7 years...

Never really used any references other than the work prior to the one i do later. Its really good to be critical about your own work and fix it that way. Otherwise theres no fault in grabbing stock images and working from them.
