Concept art for a fic I'm working on. It should be pretty obvious who is speaking and why ... although the rest of the stuff going on won't make sense unless you've read the fic. Heh heh. I need to write more.This was created with Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter. I'm learning to use the two in tandem.
Edit: Added some mist to distance the background from the foreground, and lightened the dragon a lot so he's more silver now.

It was a story to develop a lot of my neglected fan characters. Usually my stories are heavier on the official characters, but there's loads of Sonic, Shadow and Metal Sonic in there.

heh.. Drachir huh? didn't expect that coming. I kinda thought with the new game and all she'd be making a fic on The Shadow The Hedgehog game. But I guess this is better and also kinda predictable. NR doesn't skip straight to a new game's fanfic she makes other stories that act as transitions. I think this is very smart and shows she has a lot of creativity.

I really like Metal Sonic's eyes, for some reason. I think it's because the red looks so well-defined against the black, and it makes the eyes look more... I dunno, glowy? XD Great level of detail put in with the color. The scene is well illustrated. The background really has a "painted" touch to it, which I really like. That metal dragon thing is cool, too.

Very good as usual. The scene looks very interesting. From the dragon fighting Super Sonic to the foreground. I like the commotion in the foreground. Those kid hedgehogs are in danger, I assume. Mecha Sonic also looks nice, especially since he's partially organic. Shadow/Mekion has that mysterious look in his eyes. Talon also looks nicely drawn. And Aleda and Nox look quite cute in the picture.

Okay, my heart nearly leapt into my throat when you said this is from an upcoming fic. I think what is also so very refreshing about this is the wider array of characters you drew here-- some of them we haven't seen in a while, like Spark, Serena, and Bunnie! Sweet work Netraptor! The background has this dismal, painterly feel; definitely appropriate for the hideous dragon that is terrorizing the skyline. All of their eyes also look very vibrant and full of life. Shadow's organic eye is particularly haunting-- it's amazing how such different effects can be pulled off with eyes if they are simply shaded differently. Here, Shadow's irises are darker on the edges and get lighter near the pupil, giving the freaky impression that they're glowing.
Heheh, it's always fun to see them wearing some attire for a change because we're always accustomed to the lack thereof. What they are all wearing suits them well...hey...is Mecha wearing a leather jacket? Woot, suits him indeed!
