Yeees! Google shows many wrong images it's incredible. I know some modern bows have special accessories that allow you to position the arrow in different ways, but I believe it's a rule that the arrow always rests in the opposite side of the hand used to pull it back.

Cause like, I do actually occasionally use bows, but I just can't memorize every little detail.

Hard to reference when both hands are busy, that's for sure x)

And no one can really memorize them all, that's why camera turned into a very common tool amongst many visual artists. I certainly find it easier to reference many things with a well placed & timed photograph (when needed).

Really? Sweet! I haven't used a bow in ages. I also suck very much at archery. Been always curious in using a crossbow though.

Well, of course I dont draw while I'm looking at the reference, especially not when I'm working on actual commissions.
I just make the pose and memorize all the important details for the moment.
