I grew up with the "new" Sonic games, mainly the Sonic Adventure games- but the funny thing is the first Sonic game I ever actually played was a collection of old Genesis Sonic games, I didn't like them very much- but now that I'm older I've got this newfound respect for the old design of Sonic and his character. I think the 90's Sonic had more depth, and is much more appealing than the newer Sonic, in retrospect. I just felt like making this image to show my appreciation for the old games even though I'm not really a fan of them.Related content

I can't really recommend any Sonic games. They're all sort of mediocre and there's better stuff to play. That said, I really did love Sonic Adventure 2 when I was a kid, but mostly because there were these adorable pet things you could raise between levels XD

Yeah, I wasn't much of a Sonic fan, either. In fact, I'm not really a fan of any games anymore, since I'm not fond of all the stress the put on me. DX I prefer art because it's even more sandbox-y than a sandbox game, y'know? There's no limits to what you can draw, and on top of that, it allows you to be part of a loving community!

There's definitely more to be gained from art than games XD I used to be a hardcore PC gamer with like a billion games on Steam, but I don't play video games as much as I used to. They can sort of enslave you, y'know? That's what it felt like to me anyway, so now I don't play games as often.

Yeah, I agree with the enslaving thing. That's how it felt to me, too. Anyway, I have a lot more fun making bellybuttony drawings here on DA.
