After the war finally came to an end and the United Cephalopod Empire was formed, most Octolings were proven effective at infiltration tasks. As such, roughly 90% of the infiltration units are Octolings assigned to stealth (and usually night-time) missions.
They are deadly accurate with their weapons and are well trained in melee combat for dealing with personal space problems.

Of course, all of this is irrelevant as it is a silly story I came up with. They are actually about as accurate as a stormtrooper and get splatted by the hundreds.
Still nice looking, tho. Moreso than Inklings.
