Description So I have been thinking about this coming convention year, and what new material I can put out there.  I've been wanting to work with traditional media again, particularly colored pencils and charcoals since they feel, to me, to be more forgiving than markers (it's impossible for me to complete a drawing from start to finish without some kind of mistake).  Something I had been entertaining the thought of since last year was making little sketch cards.  I may make small prints out of them, and also have the original available to sell as well.  I figure they don't take an exceptionally long time, they're small and I won't feel as bad if I make a mistake and have to drop it/start over.

For my first experiment, I drew the Rockman family (sans Dr. Light) - Protoman/Blues, Megaman/Rockman, Roll and Rush!  It was done with technical pens, pencils and Prismacolor colored pencils.

If any of you have any good tips on coloring with traditional media, please let me know!  Sketching and, to some degree, inking is about the same for me whether it's online or by hand (though darn you, lack of Cntrl-Z in the real world!  Where are you when I draw a shakey line?!), but rendering has always been an area that I struggle with.  I know one recommendation is to color in highlights first, then midtones, then shadows by going from your lightest to darkest colors.  It's a really hard way for me to think because I usually think cel-shade style - flat colors, then highlights, then shadows.   I'll keep practicing and experimenting when I can.

I hope you like it!
